I would like to welcome you back for the 2018-2019 school year. I am delighted to begin my 5th year as Principal of John Bidwell Elementary school and anticipate an exciting year as we collectively continue to foster a community of excellence.
During Spring Recess the Sacramento City Unified School District is providing free meals to all children 0-18 years old at the following locations from 11:30-12:00 daily April 15-19, 2019: Ethel Phillips, Oakridge, James Marshal, Elder Creek, Nicholas, Woodbine, Rosa Parks, and Phoenix Park Apartments. You can find more information on our district webpage or call Nutrition Services at 916-395-5600.
Please help us support quality parent participation opportunities at Bidwell by completing this survey. We really want to hear from you around ways that we can build stronger relationships with our families. We know this bridge is vital in order for our students to continue meet the rigorous demands of our standards. We look forward to hearing from you so we can plan future engagement and informational opportunities.
Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast
Many teachers report that students who don’t do well on tests haven’t gotten enough sleep, and haven’t eaten breakfast on the morning of the test. Doing both of these things will ensure that your child is working at full capacity (Narang, 2008).
